Fishing in Morehead City
1 year, 8 months agoWe weren't the only ones fishing today, seemed like almost a million birds all diving into the ocean gulping up menhaden and other small fish. We caught trout and croaker nearly every time we let our sting silver jigs into the water here. They were small, but it was lots of fun!
What Tuna Looks Like Outside of the Can
1 year, 8 months agoMy friend Brian and I rode 35 miles out into the ocean from Oregon Inlet on Sunday and caught four nice Yellowfin Tuna. It was a two hour ride out to the Gulf Stream that began at 5:30 in the morning. It was cold and the wave heights were about four feet.
Once we got to the Gulf Stream the weather improved and the water was warm and we had a blast. We use an SST Chart to help locate the warmer waters and figure out where to fish. Sunday however, we followed Susan's uncle, Frank Adams, out there and we had a fish in the boat before 8AM. We trolled rigged ballyhoo on four rods behind the boat. We had two more rods on standby, but with just two of us to fight the fish, we didn't want to risk too many multiple hookups.
We had a great time, but were very sore after cleaning the fish and washing the boat... :) I hope our backs feel better so we can go out again sometime soon! To see more photos, click on my fishing photo album.

Susan and I went to the Nascar race this weekend thanks to Emma and the rest of the Team Tylenol Crew. We had a great time and really appreceate Emma and Pat Conroy for their generosity. Maybe if I am really nice they may even get me a Team Tylenol hat?
Thanks again guys and I will post some pictures from the race and put a link here for you to see. Champs!

You gotta love Roy Williams.
